A Ma Maniére Atlanta hosts the pre-launch of Pharrell Williams' latest adidas collaboration today, featuring an oversized take on the classic Superstar sneaker. The Virginia Superstar 92, first unveiled at Paris Fashion Week last June, arrives in two traditional colorways - Off White and Core Black, priced at $200.
The collection draws from three distinct decades of footwear design. The Superstar 92, also known as the "Double Wide", takes center stage with its heavily padded profile reminiscent of 1990s skate shoes and ski boots. Williams previously offered a glimpse of this design while attending Tiffany's Wonder exhibition in Tokyo alongside BLACKPINK's Rosé.
Two additional models complete the lineup: The Superstar 72 incorporates 1970s athletic design elements, while the Superstar 82 reflects 1980s refinement. Williams shared previews of these designs through his @skateboard Instagram account, and the shoes made appearances on various personalities during Paris Fashion Week.
"We pulled inspiration from the decades to offer three unique designs", Williams explained during the collection's debut at UNESCO headquarters in Paris. "From the low-profile running look of the '70s, the tailored elegance of the '80s, to the bold design language of the '90s - we wanted to give the world an option to find a Superstar that resonates with their unique self".
The wider release dates for the Virginia Superstar 92 and its companion models remain unannounced. The pre-launch pairs (SKUs JI4268 and JI4267) are available exclusively at A Ma Maniére Atlanta.
