Ray-Ban has released its first eyewear collection under the direction of A$AP Rocky, who joined as the brand's first creative director in February. The "Blacked Out" collection features three reimagined classic frames with ultra-dark lenses and distinctive design elements.

The collection presents what appears to be a timeline of Ray-Ban's design history. The Mega Clubmaster offers a vintage aesthetic with gold-colored metal accents on the bridge and lower frame portions. The Mega Wayfarer, Ray-Ban's signature silhouette, reflects mid-century styling with full acetate construction. Completing the trio is the Mega Balorama, which appeals to contemporary tastes with its sporty Y2K-influenced design.

All three models incorporate gold-plated details and feature a tattoo-inspired AWGE emblem, representing Rocky's creative collective. Each pair comes packaged in a special case decorated with a custom A$AP Rocky $1000 bill design.

When announcing his role earlier this year, Rocky stated, "I've always admired Ray-Ban's ability to stay true to its roots while constantly evolving. I'm excited to be part of the strong heritage and develop the next chapter for an iconic brand like Ray-Ban".

His responsibilities reportedly extend beyond product design to include campaign direction and store redesign, with an emphasis on connecting music, fashion, and art.

The collection is now available through select EssilorLuxottica retail locations and Ray-Ban's website, priced at $266 USD per pair.
