This collab spotlights emerging talent in fashion and creative direction. This synergy, part of the "All Together Razz" initiative, aims to amplify local talent and celebrate diversity while boosting the city's cultural programming.
On June 17th, Razzmatazz's main hall transformed into a dynamic creative stage, hosting ten unique performances by pairs of students from BAU's Master's programs in Fashion Design and Technology and Fashion Creative Direction.
The event, which kicked off at 6 PM, captivated attendees with a series of five-minute performances. Each presentation, while distinct, shared a common thread: a sustainable, creative, and critical perspective on society and the environment.
Highlights of the evening included:
- "El bosc encarnat, de la resiliència i la cura" by Rubén Gutiérrez and Ariadna Cano Caba: A poetic evocation of nature's resilience using ephemeral garments made from fragile materials collected from El Bages forest.
- "Forms of reflection" by Lenny Bourla: An exploration of Bauhaus-inspired design, blending minimalism with bold elements.
- "Capsulis" by Eve Bouchez García and Blanca Aizpurua: A fantasy-themed collection promoting eco-friendly fashion using biodegradable fabrics.
- "Manifesto" The Anarcho Criteria, by Raffaella Renatovna and Mariana Sánchez: A series of garments loaded with codes and encryptions that form part of a capsule collection by the Manifiesto brand. A performance that invites us to reflect on our surroundings and on the similarities and differences between the tangible and virtual world.
- "Ethereal Realms; A Journey Through the Uncanny" by Gabriela M. Gallo and Mora San Martín: A reinterpretation of traditional bridal wear, reflecting on women's freedom in contemporary society.
- "Thalassa" by Paula Bonilla and Diana Cortés Silva: An oceanic-inspired collection using innovative materials to mimic sea textures.
- "The Future Bridal. When White Transforms into Silver" by Anna Barnadas Estivill and Claudia Cabezas Paniagua: A reimagining of bridal traditions with a feminist perspective.
- "Que aproveche. Pasos para una violencia inminente" by Roser Martos and Candela Rodríguez: A provocative use of animal by-products to explore various forms of violence.
- "Transcripción anatómica de prendas por escribir" by Núria López and Marc Sánchez: An investigation into the relationship between body, clothing, and individuality using experimental methodologies.
- "Waves of Contrast" by Clara Suriñach and María Sánchez: A celebration of movement and transformation in fashion through contemporary dance.
The evening was a testament to the creative potential of Barcelona's emerging designers. It also highlighted Razzmatazz's commitment to expanding beyond its nightclub roots to engage with the city's broader cultural fabric.
This collaboration between BAU and Razzmatazz not only provided a platform for young talents but also demonstrated how unconventional partnerships can invigorate a city's cultural scene, bridging the gap between academia, nightlife, and avant-garde fashion.
