Billie Eilish/BIRDS OF A FEATHER
Billie Eilish's "BIRDS OF A FEATHER" reached 1.781 billion streams on Spotify by January 2, 2025, making it the platform's most played song of 2024. The track, from her album "HIT ME HARD AND SOFT," surpassed Sabrina Carpenter's "Espresso" at 1.778 billion streams.
Initially placing third in Spotify's 2024 Wrapped rankings in December, "BIRDS OF A FEATHER" gained momentum in the year's final weeks. The song's success extends beyond streaming numbers, reaching No. 2 on Billboard's Hot 100, while its parent album debuted in the same position on the Billboard 200.
Director Aidan Zamiri created the song's music video, which follows a supernatural storyline. The video features Eilish navigating through haunted locations and encountering spectral figures, marking a departure from her previous visual aesthetics.
The 22-year-old singer begins the Australian leg of her "HIT ME HARD AND SOFT" tour in February 2025. The tour continues across Europe from April through July, with performances scheduled in major cities including London, Paris, and Berlin.
The streaming achievement adds to Eilish's existing records, which include seven Grammy Awards and an Academy Award for Best Original Song. Her previous album "Happier Than Ever" (2021) generated over 4 billion streams across platforms.
