Milan Fashion Week witnessed the debut of David Koma as Blumarine's creative director, marking a significant turning point for the Italian label. Taking the reins from predecessor Walter Chiapponi, Koma unveiled his autumn/winter 2025 collection to industry insiders while the italian singer M¥SS KETA, face characteristically concealed, provided the musical backdrop and observed from the front row.

The Georgian-born designer's appointment signals Blumarine's strategic shift toward a more sophisticated aesthetic, departing from the Y2K nostalgia championed by Nicola Brognano during his 2019-2023 tenure with stylist Lotta Volkova. This redirection infuses the brand with a refreshed sensibility that appears more carefree compared to the distinctive approach Koma employs for his namesake label.

Drawing from Italian cinema's rich tradition of feminine representation, the collection melds silver screen glamour with contemporary execution. The designer navigated between Sicilian mystique and modern refinement, employing a restrained color scheme of red, black, dark gray, and white.

Technically masterful pieces dominated the runway: sculptural neoprene jackets and skirts stood alongside structured bustier dresses featuring crinolines paired with delicate Chantilly lace and flowing georgette scarves. The comprehensive wardrobe extended to include plush shearling coats, leather shirts, textured blouses, English-ribbed merino sweaters with strategic cutouts, mini dresses with heart-shaped necklines, and denim creations enhanced with dimensional details. The resulting collection carefully navigates the intersection of bohemian spirit and romantic precision.
