1. Introduce Yourself to the Casawi Community: What drives you? What's your artistic vision, and what sets you apart from the crowd?

What's good, my name is Damar Davis and what drives me is daily life, my family and friends. I don't look at the crowd, what they're doing has nothing to do with me. My artistic vision is to be able to continue to live off of the talents God has given to me and make my family proud in whatever medium I choose to create in.

2. City Inspirations: How has your city influenced your artistic path? Share how its streets, culture, and energy have molded your work.

So first and foremost Los Angeles is truly one of the best places on the planet if you feel different don’t come. There’s so many pockets of culture that you can pull from for inspiration. I can be at the beach and then the snow on the same day if I wanted to. Our night life could be a bit better but other than that its home and will always be. It made my work kinda raw and straightforward not sure why but that's the energy I'm on at the moment.

3. Creative Process: What fuels your creativity? Whether it's a ritual, a muse, or a moment of clarity, we're keen to learn.

Honestly right now the thing that’s fueling my creativity is traveling. I love being able to tell how much LA has influenced the rest of the world but also how other places put their spin on it. I don’t really have a ritual, I’m a Sagittarius so I'm a spur of the moment type of person. Shit the way I see someone walking across the street can inspire me. Life is so poetic if you take a sec to just sit back and listen to God’s playlist.

4. City Lifestyle and Art: How the places you lived influenced your career and work?

I mean like I said earlier LA is a different breed, shit you can see anything and do anything if you’re really about it. I think being able to work in and for pretty icon brands, I was exposed to some really cool shit at a young age so my aspirations for life were already set high. So even though I feel like the game is definitely interesting at the moment, the earlier days of streetwear and DJ culture In LA really inspired me and influence how I approach a lot of Salon Recordings parties and releases.

5. Latest or Upcoming Projects: Give us a glimpse into your current endeavors and what lies ahead on your creative journey.

So I can’t tell you what I'm working on because I DON'T do that. I'll talk about it when it's out. Projects that you should check out though are from Salon Recordings. We just dropped a compilation featuring some of our roster from around the globe and here in the states. Lastly the Ep I dropped at the top of the year is also out on Vinyl and on all streaming platforms so please peep it. As far as the creative journey I plan on continuing to release electronic music I really believe in and most importantly having fun.
