For David Enth, large-scale tattoos are his specialty. “I love making my clients look like cyborgs by tattooing sleek and futuristic patterns from the back of their heads down to their lower spines”, he tells @dieuxskin.

Drawing inspiration from the tattoo culture of the late '90s and early '00s, this LA native has revolutionized the art form with his wearable masterpieces that adorn the body like clothing. Trompe l’oeil corset piercings and scripted pantyhose patterns mimic intimate apparel, while oversized text and logos resonate with the early '00s slogan tees that are trending again.

Having grown up during the peak of the emo era, it's no surprise that David embraces one of the scene's most iconic symbols, the star tattoo. Though this motif has largely fallen out of favor, with many who got them in their youth now hiding them, David is reintroducing them with innovative placements and combinations for a new generation.

David’s forward-thinking approach to tattooing has enabled him to pursue it full-time. Before this career, he was on track to become a nurse, having graduated from USC as a medical student. However, his upbringing around tattooing, with brothers and cousins in the trade, inspired him to choose a different path.

“Tattooing allows me to enjoy things beyond capitalism and avoids the pressure to be productive every day. It continues to teach me mindfulness and fulfills me in ways that my work as a student in the hospital did.”

If you're attending Paris Fashion Week in January, keep an eye out for David, who will be taking bookings during the month and appearing as part of the Cold Archive exhibition with Puma. Check out their page for more details soon.
