Italian fashion label GR10K presented its Fall/Winter 2025 collection in an unconventional setting - a school's main hall, where 12 classical singing students performed 15th-century chansons. The performance incorporated distorted recordings from Mark Rothko's estate legal battles and drew inspiration from scenes in Gus Van Sant's "Last Days", examining the decline of niche culture.
The collection, titled "Der Blaue Reiter", references the early 20th-century artistic movement led by Wassily Kandinsky, Franz Marc, Paul Klee, August Macke, Alexej von Jawlensky, Marianne von Werefkin, and Gabriele Münter. The name choice acknowledges the uncertainty and delicate nature that marked the beginning phases of many avant-garde movements.
The clothing merges workwear with artistic elements, designed for creative professionals. Traditional coats and motorist garments are paired with punk graphics and functional silhouettes that defy conventional categorization. The pieces reflect the brand's ongoing exploration of experimental art and music.
This presentation format aligns with GR10K's established interest in merging fashion with artistic and musical experimentation. The collection maintains the brand's dedication to conceptual workwear while incorporating elements that speak to the broader creative community.
The setting created an atmosphere where fashion, music, and art intersected, with the classical singers' performance providing a contrast to the modern design elements. The inclusion of Rothko's estate dispute recordings added a layer of commentary on art world dynamics, while the references to "Last Days" brought in elements of contemporary cultural critique.
