IPHONE 17 RENDERS SHOW POTENTIAL CAMERA REDESIGN

Leaked iPhone 17 CAD renders reveal a new camera design reminiscent of Google Pixel phones, plus details on the rumored iPhone 17 Air model.

CAD renders showing iPhone 17 models with a horizontal camera bar design, featuring the standard, Pro, Pro Max, and rumored Air variants.

A series of leaked CAD renders for the upcoming iPhone 17 lineup suggest Apple may be planning a significant design change to its camera system. Leaker Majin Bu shared images purportedly showing the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and a possible new "iPhone 17 Air" model.

The renders indicate that the Pro and Air variants could feature a horizontally-oriented camera bar across the upper portion of the device, departing from Apple's established square camera module. This design approach bears some resemblance to Google's Pixel smartphones.

According to the leaks, the standard iPhone 17 would maintain the current camera layout, while the rumored Air model would include the new design language but with a single camera lens.

Industry speculation about an iPhone 17 Air has been ongoing, with suggestions that it might replace the Plus model in Apple's lineup. Reports indicate the Air variant could feature a thinner profile with a titanium frame, while the Pro models might switch from titanium back to aluminum. The change in materials could be related to environmental considerations, according to supply chain analyst Jeff Pu.

Apple traditionally announces new iPhone models in September, leaving several months before any official confirmation of these design changes.
