Jaguar

Jaguar has introduced the Type 00, a concept vehicle that embodies the brand's new electric direction and creative philosophy during Miami Art Week. Named as a nod to iconic models like the pioneering E-type, the vehicle represents Jaguar's "Exuberant Modernism" approach to automotive design.

Design and Exterior

The Type 00 challenges traditional electric vehicle aesthetics with its distinctive silhouette. Key design elements include:

  • An elongated hood
  • Expansive roofline
  • Tapered rear section
  • 23-inch alloy wheels
  • Butterfly doors
  • Frameless rear hatch

The vehicle's lateral profile features a laser-etched brass "leaper" emblem that dramatically reveals rear-facing cameras. The rear design showcases a horizontal Strikethrough signature that conceals full-width lighting elements.

Interior Innovation

The interior presents an equally radical departure from conventional automotive design. A 3.2-meter central spine divides two floating instrument panels. Notable interior features include:

  • Travertine stone base
  • Tactile wool wrapping around seats, audio bar, and flooring
  • A unique "Prism case" with three natural material totems
  • Customizable ambient lighting
  • Adaptive sound and screen graphics

Color and Presentation

Revealed in "Miami Pink" and "London Blue" colorways, the Type 00 is a design study rather than a production model. It serves as a reference point for Jaguar's future electric vehicles, including a planned four-door electric GT scheduled for 2025.

Design Leadership Perspective

Gerry McGovern, Chief Creative Officer of Jaguar Land Rover, described the Type 00 as "a pure expression of our new creative philosophy" and "the first physical manifestation of a new Jaguar family that will be unlike anything you've seen before."

Constantino Segui Gilabert, Chief Exterior Designer, emphasized the brand's commitment to extraordinary design: "When you see a new Jaguar, you must perceive a sense of wonder, something never seen before."

The Type 00 concept underscores Jaguar's strategic shift towards electric mobility while maintaining the brand's distinctive design heritage and creative vision.
