The iconic Air Jordan 1 Hi '85 "Chicago" colorway is making its comeback in 2025, confirming months of speculation about the model's return. Initially rumored last August, reports had shifted toward a new colorway using the same white, red, and black palette—but recent images confirm the classic "Chicago" design is indeed returning.
This situation mirrors the confusion surrounding the Air Jordan 12 "Flu Game" release, which was temporarily reported to be a new "Bloodline" variant before ultimately releasing in its original form.
The limited preview shows the familiar red, white, and black color blocking, featuring the Hi '85's distinctive modifications: smaller Wings logo, redesigned Swoosh, and elevated collar height. While details remain limited, the release is expected this fall through Nike SNKRS and select retailers, priced at $250 USD.
This release contributes to Jordan Brand's celebration of the Air Jordan 1's 40th anniversary, joining other anticipated 2025 drops including the "UNC Reimagined", a "Reverse Shadow" colorway, and the legendary "Bred" version in its '85 form.
The "Chicago" colorway last appeared in 2022 as the "Lost & Found" (also called "Chicago Reimagined") edition, but this upcoming release returns to the traditional '85 specifications. Official announcement from Jordan Brand regarding its 2025 lineup is still pending.
Jordan enthusiasts should monitor Nike SNKRS and authorized retailers for updates as the fall 2025 release approaches.
