Italian fabric specialist Loro Piana has partnered with design studio Dimoremilano for their first joint venture at Milan Design Week 2025. The installation "La Prima Notte di Quiete" transforms interior spaces through a cinematic lens, remaining open for visitors until April 13.
The experiential journey begins in a cinema entrance hall decorated with red velvet, leopard carpeting and brass details. This entrance serves as a portal to a series of interconnected rooms that reflect residential interiors reminiscent of the 1970s and 1980s.
Soft lighting illuminates each carefully composed space—from bedrooms to dining areas, bathrooms and garden settings. The installation balances heritage elements with contemporary design sensibilities.
Throughout the spaces, vintage art pieces stand alongside new Dimoremilano creations, all showcasing Loro Piana Interiors textiles. The material selection focuses on natural fibers including cashmere, wool, velvet and sisal, creating tactile environments with a subdued color palette.
Notable furniture introductions include the Valsesia dining table with its distinctive silhouette, plush Quarona poufs, and display-oriented Locarno cabinets. The collection also features the Varallo bed and Trivero armchairs, which emphasize comfortable luxury. Dimoremilano's established designs—the Snooker and Corner sofas—appear in new interpretations using Loro Piana's signature fabrics.
Sound designer Nicola Guiducci enhances the atmospheric quality with subtle audio elements—piano notes, rain sounds, telephone rings—that complete the multisensory environment. The result creates the sensation of entering a lived-in space that feels both realistic and theatrically composed.
Visitors interested in experiencing "La Prima Notte di Quiete" can schedule appointments through Loro Piana's reservation website. The installation is housed in the Cortile della Seta courtyard at Loro Piana's Milan headquarters on Via Della Moscova 33.
