Pokémon GO
McDonald's is expanding its digital engagement strategy through a new partnership with Pokémon GO, transforming select restaurant locations into interactive gaming destinations across the United States.
From December 16, 2024, to March 16, 2025, Pokémon Trainers can participate in a unique event that integrates mobile gaming with quick-service dining. The collaboration will turn participating McDonald's restaurants into virtual gaming hubs, featuring Sponsored PokéStops and Gyms.
During specific weekly periods, the partnership offers players distinctive gaming opportunities. Each day from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm local time, McDonald's locations will host special in-game events. Players can expect enhanced gameplay experiences, including activated Lure Modules that attract Pokémon to PokéStops and five-star Raid Battles at McDonald's Gyms.
The event schedule includes four distinct weeks:
- December 16–22, 2024
- January 20–26, 2025
- February 10–16, 2025
- March 10–16, 2025
These gaming sessions provide Pokémon enthusiasts an opportunity to encounter rare Pokémon and expand their Pokédex while enjoying the convenience of a McDonald's restaurant. The collaboration represents a strategic approach to merging digital entertainment with traditional dining experiences.
