Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the next-generation CLA, marking the first model in a new lineup of vehicles from the German automaker. The redesigned CLA introduces Mercedes' new operating system while offering both electric and hybrid powertrain options.
The CLA's technology centers around the Mercedes-Benz Operating System (MB.OS), which enables wireless updates to keep the vehicle's systems current. This platform supports the fourth generation of the MBUX infotainment system, which incorporates AI technology from Microsoft and Google. The MBUX Virtual Assistant can process complex instructions, detect emotions, and provide navigation using Google Maps.
For the initial launch, Mercedes will offer the all-electric CLA 250+ and the CLA 350 4MATIC. These models feature an 800-volt battery architecture that allows for quick charging—adding approximately 201 miles of range in 10 minutes. The CLA 250+ boasts a maximum range of 492 miles on a full charge. Later this year, Mercedes will introduce hybrid variants with three different power levels and a 48-volt electrical system.
The exterior design showcases a light-up pattern grille, star-shaped headlights, and a panoramic roof. Inside, the CLA presents a minimalist approach with the MBUX Superscreen as the focal point. Mercedes has not yet announced pricing or specific launch dates for the new CLA models.
