Newcastle United and adidas are releasing a reproduction of the club's 1995-97 home shirt, marking the return of one of English football's most recognizable designs.

The replica maintains the original's key features, from its distinctive Henley collar to the Newcastle Brown Ale sponsorship and classic adidas trefoil logo. The shirt represents a pivotal era for the club, worn during Newcastle's memorable 1995-96 season when they finished second in the Premier League under Kevin Keegan.

That campaign saw Newcastle field a team including Alan Shearer, David Ginola, and Les Ferdinand. The season became particularly notable for the title race between Keegan's attacking Newcastle side and Manchester United, managed by Alex Ferguson, with the latter ultimately claiming the championship.

The kit's return follows Newcastle United's recent partnership with adidas, which began ahead of the 2024/25 season. The collaboration has already produced the current away shirt, which draws inspiration from the burgundy and navy design worn during the same 1995-96 period.

Fans can purchase the reproduced home shirt through adidas and Newcastle United's online stores from January 9.
