The video, set in an arcade-inspired environment, was released on Instagram.

The .SWOOSH platform, launched by the American brand in 2022, aims to expand the definition of sport into the future and invest in the potential of web3. This release follows the launch of the Air Force 1 Low "404 Error" and marks another step in Nike's digital strategy.

The focus of this drop is a reimagined version of the Air Max 1, dubbed the "Low Poly" edition. This iteration builds upon the iconic design created by Tinker Hatfield in 1987, incorporating elements reminiscent of 1990s and 2000s video game aesthetics.

One of the most notable modifications is the treatment of the famous Swoosh logo. It has been reworked to evoke a sense of nostalgia for retro gaming pixels. This pixelated design element extends to the upper, while the tongue features a digitized font. The insole is emblazoned with a "Push/Start" graphic, further reinforcing the video game theme.

The color scheme of the shoe combines shades of grey and white, creating a clean base that allows the pixelated details to stand out. The midsole retains the classic Air Max 1 shape but incorporates subtle nods to the low-poly concept.

Materials used in the construction include a mix of leather and mesh, typical of the Air Max 1, but with textures that mimic the look of early 3D graphics. The overall effect is a balance between the shoe's heritage and a contemporary digital twist.

Nike's decision to collaborate with Kai Cenat for the unveiling aligns with the brand's strategy to engage with influential figures in digital spaces. Cenat, known for his large following on streaming platforms, brings attention to the release among a younger, tech-savvy audience.

The Air Max 1 "Low Poly" will be available for online pre-order starting October 8. Pricing details and information about a wider release have not yet been disclosed.
