Architectural firm Snøhetta has revealed two design proposals for Norway's national football team training facility, drawing inspiration from traditional Nordic longhouses. The sites under consideration are in Asker and Ski, two cities near Oslo.

At the Asker location, the design features a series of grass-covered terraces that lead to the main building complex. A circular opening in the roof creates a central courtyard, bringing daylight into the indoor spaces. The terraced landscape includes wide steps that double as seating for spectators.

The buildings' exterior uses cross-laminated timber (CLT) and wooden cladding, with curved lines that follow the natural contours of the land. Solar panels on the roofs will provide power for the facilities.

Beyond training areas, the complex will house the Norwegian Football Association's offices, administrative spaces, and a sports-focused high school. The design aims to create a self-contained campus for player development and football administration.

The Ski proposal follows similar principles but adapts to its specific location. Both designs maintain Snøhetta's focus on integrating architecture with the surrounding environment.

The Norwegian Football Association has not yet announced when construction will begin or which site they will choose.

This article provides a clear, factual account of Snøhetta's proposals while adding more specific details about the materials, layout, and functions of the facilities. The writing avoids overly promotional language while still conveying the key aspects of the designs.
