Hugo Comte is a French photographer and director based in Paris. He was born in 1988 and became passionate about photography early on.
His unique photography has appeared in Vogue, GQ, and Vanity Fair. It is recognizable. His sharp vision and cross-disciplinary background have influenced his creative process. He studied Architecture in Paris.
Comte creates timeless, dreamy worlds. He captures his subjects' essence and strength. His clients include top brands. For example, Vogue Italia and Vogue Paris. Also, Re-Edition, Bvlgari, Byredo, MAC Cosmetics, Salvatore Ferragamo, Prada, and Valentino.
Comte's latest series, Testament, is a collaboration with visionary stylist and Dazed's editor-in-chief, IB Kamara. This powerful exhibition seeks to question them. It also aims to dismantle and reframe historical archetypes and cultural touchstones. The 15 monumental photographs reimagine Western iconography. They put diversity at its core. Comte and Kamara made them.Photos in the exhibit challenge our views. They range from cops against punks to models in white robes, like ancient Greeks. Notably, one photo stands out. It shows Jesus as a Black woman on the cross, arms open. Her natural hair glows in the light, forming a halo.

Comte's influence extends beyond photography. He recently went into the metaverse. There, he dropped a digital token powered by P00ls. He is also set to launch his first fashion line with designer Lois Saunders. His work has been on major labels like Marc Jacobs and Valentino. It has also been in publications such as 032c, Re-Edition, and, of course, Dazed & Confused. Notably, he also created the iconic album artwork for Dua Lipa's "Future Nostalgia".
