PRADA'S FALL 2025: THE RAW MECHANICS OF DRESSING

Explore Prada's FW25 menswear collection, where industrial architecture meets instinctual dressing. Raw sophistication emerges through unexpected pairings and deliberate contrasts.

A fashion show staged within a three-story industrial metal pipe structure at Fondazione Prada. The runway features male models walking through narrow corridors under shifting blue, red, and yellow lights. The industrial set is softened by a luxurious carpet. Models wear oversized coats, exposed chests with fur stoles, cottage-print tops, plaid trenches, and Western-influenced footwear. The collection demonstrates a mix of formal and casual elements, with unexpected combinations like floral brooches on tailored blazers. The space combines elements of both a nightclub and a traditional ballroom setting.

Within the industrial expanse of Fondazione Prada this Sunday, metal pipes stretched skyward in a complex lattice, setting the stage for Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons' latest menswear collection. The show's invitation - a single silver pipe delivered in a white box - proved to be the first piece of a larger puzzle.

The set, conceived as a three-story metallic structure, shared an unexpected kinship with the concert scaffolding from the recent SWEAT Tour, where Troye Sivan and Charli XCX performed. Yet here, under the direction of Catherine Martin, a rich carpet softened the industrial framework, while choreographed lights in blue, red, and yellow transformed the space between nightclub abandon and ballroom refinement.

The 56-look collection explored the unconscious choices that shape personal style. Models emerged through narrow corridors wearing oversized coats paired with fur stoles, their chests bare underneath. The designers mixed seemingly discordant elements: cottage-print crop tops with formal loafers, purple trousers under plaid trenches, and bomber jackets layered over cowhide shirts. Floral brooches found their way onto austere blazers, while Western boots peeked out from beneath tailored pants.

Backstage, Prada and Simons described their inspiration as "unlearned reactions" and "primitive urges" - the instinctual decisions that guide how people dress themselves each morning. The collection appeared to celebrate these raw, unfiltered choices that occur before social conventions and digital influences enter the equation.

The metal framework trembled slightly as the audience's applause filled the space. In merging the mechanical with the intimate, Prada had transformed their show space into something that felt both industrial and alive - much like the clothing itself.
