PUMA has unveiled its new collection of home and away kits for five national teams competing in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. The designs draw from each country's cultural heritage while incorporating modern sportswear technology.
The collection features distinctive uniforms for Morocco, Egypt, Ivory Coast, Senegal, and Ghana. For the creative process, PUMA collaborated with designers from Daily Paper, including co-founders Abderrahmane Trabsini and Jefferson Osei.
The Morocco kit, designed by Amsterdam-based Trabsini, integrates traditional zellige tile patterns into the home jersey. These geometric motifs, common in Moroccan architecture, represent themes of unity and eternity. The away kit features symbols found in traditional Moroccan rugs, incorporating cultural elements of protection and harmony.
Ghanaian-born designer Jefferson Osei worked with local artist Daniel Alum Jasper to create Ghana's uniforms. The home kit, set on white, displays an innovative star pattern that becomes more visible as players move on the field. The away version, in yellow, references Ghana's historical "Gold Coast" name and includes traditional adinkra symbols on the sleeves.
The collection balances athletic performance requirements with cultural representation. Each kit incorporates moisture-wicking fabrics and ventilation features while maintaining the distinctive visual elements of each nation.
