1. Introduce Yourself to the Casawi Community: What drives you? What's your artistic vision, and what sets you apart from the crowd?

Hi, my name is Tomás Correia i’m a 3D artist from Portugal and I have a passion for character design. Since little I’ve been in love with customising everything in my surroundings. Breaking legos apart and building something completely new was when I started thinking “Oh, creating stuff is actually cool”. Eventually I started learning 3D modelling and I realised I had a digital world where I could create basically everything I wanted without the limitations of the real world. Now I’m bringing some of my digital creations into the real world with the help of 3D printing and other methods im exploring.

2. City Inspirations: How has your city influenced your artistic path? Share how its streets, culture, and energy have molded your work.

I live in a small village here in Portugal and I feel that there’s a huge contrast between some of my works which are very futuristic and the place I live in which is very rural and peoples minds are very conservative and close minded but that has motivated me to keep building this reality where I can wear and make whatever I want without having people questioning it or just not being able to appreciate the beauty of stuff and asking "what is it for?”, “Is it functional?”

3. Creative Process: What fuels your creativity? Whether it's a ritual, a muse, or a moment of clarity, we're keen to learn.

I’d say my creativity is a bit spontaneous but there’s times where I just stare at the screen or the wall and can’t think of anything to do, during that time I just go outside and go for a bike ride and my brain “resets” it clears my mind and when I get back home my ideas are much more organised. Watching movies or series also helps me a lot to get inspired, and the one thing I need to work with is music, without it i’m simply not able to concentrate and focus.

4. City Lifestyle and Art: How the places you lived influenced your career and work?

Here in this little village I live there’s not much to do ahah but when I get to travel I tend to take as much visual memories as I can and that feeds my cultural knowledge. I really wanna travel more around the world and visit as much places as I can, we only live once and if we have the possibility and opportunity to explore other countries and cultures I think we should take it. Planet earth might be insignificant compared to the whole universe but we are tiny little bugs compared to the dimension of this planet and I can’t think of the idea of dying without exploring it as much as I can.

5. Latest or Upcoming Projects: Give us a glimpse into your current endeavors and what lies ahead on your creative journey.

I’m currently working on my first ever collection with 3 physical wearable pieces. I wanna get more into the fashion world and I hope this project gets me closer to it. I have lots of goals and dreams one of them is having some of my pieces in a runway show and I’m working on getting that accomplished.
