1. Introduce Yourself to the Casawi Community: What drives you? What's your artistic vision, and what sets you apart from the crowd?

My name is Rebecca Brodskis I am 36 and mother of two (7 and 4), I have been painting since I can remember. My grand mother was a painter in Morocco and from a very young age I was spending a lot of time in her studios. Painting is just a necessity in my life When I don’t paint I get depressed It’s a meditation, a prayer, a way of reconnecting with myself.

2. City Inspirations: How has your city influenced your artistic path? Share how its streets, culture, and energy have molded your work.

I dont really feel like I have a city as I have been moving so much and I feel home every where and nowhere. I am a real wonderer in that sense. Now I am in Marseille for the last year and a half. I grew up between France and Morocco. Finished my high school in Paris and moved to London. From there I went on to live in NYC, Berlin and Tel Aviv. I am also doing a lot of residencies all around, Senegal, Singapore, Morocco, Mallorca and now just came back two weeks ago from a residency in Ivory Coast. Travelling inspires me. I hate routine and I hate feeling like I know everything about a place.

3. Creative Process: What fuels your creativity? Whether it's a ritual, a muse, or a moment of clarity, we're keen to learn.

People are fueling my creativity. Faces i see in the streets on public transports. My surroundings are a constant source of inspiration.

4. City Lifestyle and Art: How the places you lived influenced your career and work?

I studied sociology and I feel I am painting like a sociologist. I walk, I observe people. I dive into cultures, stories and this is what inspires me.

5. Latest or Upcoming Projects: Give us a glimpse into your current endeavors and what lies ahead on your creative journey.

My next solo exhibitions will be in Cotonou, Benin with Septième gallery in March I will then have another one in Geneva with Fabienne Levy gallery in June I am also showing in a few fairs, art Paris, art Genève, expo Chicago.
