Giuseppe di Morabito made fashion history by featuring Ameca, an advanced humanoid robot, alongside supermodel Yasmin Wijnaldum at his Fall/Winter 2025 debut show. The presentation deliberately juxtaposed cutting-edge technology with classical fashion elements to explore the relationship between tradition and innovation.

The show began with di Morabito verbally activating Ameca, who recited passages from Thomas Carlyle's 1834 philosophical text "Sartor Resartus" before models including Amelia Gray took to the catwalk. This unusual opening set the tone for the collection titled "ALONE WITH THE STARS".

Throughout the presentation, the designer combined historical references with contemporary elements. Metal-cast floral corsets prevented natural decay, while traditional crinoline structures were reimagined as modern outerwear across blazers and mini dresses in earth tones. The men's collection featured armor-inspired overlays on tailored suits, furthering the ancient-meets-modern aesthetic.

The finale featured Wijnaldum in a sculptural jeweled corset reminiscent of Greek statuary, interacting with Ameca as the robot mimicked her movements—a physical representation of the dialogue between past, present, and future.

According to the show notes, di Morabito aimed to create "a multifaceted vision that transcends the conventional fashion showcase, offering a reflection on contemporary reality". His approach follows other designers who have incorporated technology themes, including Daniel Roseberry's robotic creations for Schiaparelli's SS24 Couture Collection and AI-influenced designs from Collina Strada and Acne Studios.

While this marked Ameca's runway debut, it likely signals a growing intersection between technology, artificial intelligence, and fashion design that will continue to develop in coming seasons.
