1. Introduce Yourself to the Casawi Community: What drives you? What's your artistic vision, and what sets you apart from the crowd?

The simple need to tell stories, whether filtered through music, words, or sometimes images, I think it changes relatively little. It has never been a desire of mine to stand out from the crowd, I have always dreamed of feeling I always dreamed of being normal, I aspired to be a postman or a garbage collector, then I unluckily stumbled into my creative creative ‘’condemnation‘’, and the rest is history.

2. City Inspirations: How has your city influenced your artistic path? Share how its streets, culture, and energy have molded your work.

I rejected for many years the place where I was born, and in fact fled from it, then with the years, and countless turns, I realised its richness. I am back there, and I am squeezing it like a lemon, I believe that the creativity and strength of craftsmanship is to be found in the small provinces these days.

3. Creative Process: What fuels your creativity? Whether it's a ritual, a muse, or a moment of clarity, we're keen to learn.

It's quite uncontrolled, I don't have any holy piles, drugs or new age artistoid bullshit hippie. Those things are from those who are already rich and can afford to MAKE THE artist, without actually BEING one.

4. City Lifestyle and Art: What characterizes clubbing and lifestyle in your city? How does your environment intersect with your art?

I don't go to social clubs, I go to taverns, I hang out in bars talking to old people who tell me their glorious stories of their youth, I can be found in Brin Square in the middle of the Barrio drinking Mamajuana with my Dominican brothers, of course I can also hang out in the millionaire's penthouse discussing highbrow stuff, but the real world and the folklore that nourishes me, is on the street.

5. Latest or Upcoming Projects: Give us a glimpse into your current endeavors and what lies ahead on your creative journey.

I came out a few days ago with my second photo book, and it is the reportage I realised on the Dominican community in La Spezia (my city) They are two volumes, or rather let's call them by their names, they are two photo albums (yes, the ones you used for summer holidays) that contain 80 photos of this special ‘’family‘’. There will also be two exhibitions, one in La Spezia on 18 May @sunspace, and another in Milan, on 8 June in Viale Tunisia 38.

Below is the STD of the Milan event, don't miss it!
