The ongoing collaboration between Stone Island and New Balance, initiated in 2021, continues to transcend seasonal trends with a new interpretation of the classic 998 silhouette.
For this latest release, the brands have focused on reimagining the first Made in USA model, which initially gained recognition in 1993 for introducing the ABZORB cushioning technology to the footwear market.
This edition features a distinctive material composition that includes cotton canvas with polyurethane coating and nubuck overlays, drawing inspiration from Stone Island's signature RASO GOMMATO fabric created by Massimo Osti during the 1980s. The color palette—blending mauve, plum, and copper tones—references the Spring/Summer 2025 collection from the Moncler group brand, complemented by reflective elements and collaborative branding details.
The collaborative sneaker will be available starting March 27 at select retail locations and through online channels, with priority access granted to registered MyStoneIsland account holders.
