Established in 1934 by Clifford Roberts and Bobby Jones, The Masters is one of the four major golf tournaments, held annually at the esteemed Augusta National Golf Club in the state of Georgia, USA.
The Masters sets itself apart from other major tournaments with its deeply rooted traditions, having been played on the same course since its inception. This course, designed by Jones and Alister MacKenzie, is renowned for its beauty, strategic demands, and stunning setting.
The Masters is also unique for its distinctive customs and symbols. Perhaps the most famous is the Green Jacket, awarded to each winner, signifying membership in the global golf elite.

The tournament is also known for its iconic ceremonies, such as the “Champions Dinner” and the “Ceremonial Tee Shot” that opens the competition, linking each edition to the tournament’s history and traditions.
Tiger Woods holds the record for the youngest Masters winner, having claimed his first Masters in 1997 at the age of 21, and also holds the record for the largest margin of victory that year, with a historic 12-stroke lead.
Beyond the competition itself, The Masters plays a significant role in the development of golf, with a strong commitment to improving the sport and supporting youth and education. The tournament has initiated and supported numerous charitable and educational initiatives, helping to promote golf as an accessible and inclusive sport.
