Umbro and LC23 have reunited for a Spring/Summer 2025 collection that draws inspiration from 1990s football culture. This second collaboration follows their previous work on the Umbro Speciali's 20-year anniversary edition, which featured crochet elements.
The new line focuses on the formal aesthetic that dominated football during the 90s era, when players and managers regularly appeared in tailored suits both before matches and at awards ceremonies. The collection adapts this refined approach for contemporary wear.
At the center of the release is a redesigned Speciali sneaker crafted from leather and suede, featuring an interchangeable tongue. A beige trench coat, reminiscent of those worn by notable football managers of the period, serves as another key piece.
The collection includes a knitted shirt that reimagines a classic football jersey as everyday wear, complete with the signature fold-over tongue detail characteristic of 90s football apparel. The design incorporates distinctive patterns on the sleeves and body, with the LC23 logo positioned where a sponsor would traditionally appear.
Complementing these items are a blazer, shorts, tie, football socks, slippers, cap, and shoe bag that complete the football-inspired wardrobe.
The collaboration blends Italian design sensibilities with British sporting tradition, offering pieces that balance nostalgic references with modern styling.
The full collection will be available for purchase beginning April 23 on lc23.it.
