Nocta, the brand under the umbrella of Nike, is reportedly close to becoming the new technical sponsor of Venezia FC, according to La Nuova Venezia and Tutto Venezia Sport. This move would mark the entry of Drake’s brand into the football world. Venezia FC, known for its uniqueness in the football world, makes this possibility seem less strange. The club’s uniqueness is evident in its international jersey coverage, affiliations with notable figures like Didier Drogba, and the rebranding led by Mirko Borsche, which included jersey design and a new logo.

Nike, from 2014 to 2021, served as the technical sponsor for Venezia, providing the club with unique, original jerseys without using templates - a rarity for lower-tier teams.

Recently promoted to Serie A, Venezia began the 2024/25 pre-season without a new technical sponsor. According to La Nuova Venezia, Nocta entered the sponsorship race after negotiations with Diadora fell through. It’s hard to envision a Nike subsidiary taking on this role, especially considering that even the globally renowned Jordan Brand doesn’t directly sponsor clubs but only creates special jerseys. However, if there’s one club that could change this narrative, it’s Venezia, widely regarded as the most stylish and elegant team in the world in recent years.
