At 19 years old, Jin Oh triumphed over her compatriot Yeji Kim, whose clip of one of her shots has been viewed tens of millions of times on X.

Her composed performance inspired numerous comments, with many impressed by Yeji Kim’s calm and precise shooting, likened to the aura of a movie actress who could star in a Quentin Tarantino film. The example of the South Korean athlete particularly highlights the fleeting yet passionate interest in Olympic disciplines that the general public is less accustomed to watching, but which stand out due to their strong visual appeal and admirable technique.

The 10-meter air pistol event was introduced at the Olympics in 1988 in Seoul. Since then, it has become one of the most popular disciplines in Olympic shooting sports. The event is conducted with an air pistol, with a distance of 10 meters between the shooter and the target. This target consists of ten concentric circles, with the center having a diameter of 11.5 mm.
