Jacquemus
The store, dubbed "The New York Boutique", opened its doors in the SoHo neighborhood of Manhattan.
The project, which began construction in November 2023, is the result of a collaboration between architecture firm OMA and designer Simon Porte Jacquemus. The boutique occupies a 19th-century brick townhouse, offering 2,906 square feet of retail space across two floors.
Drawing inspiration from both Parisian elegance and Provincial charm, the store's design aims to complement SoHo's artistic heritage. OMA's interior approach balances minimalism with warmth, utilizing light wood and white stucco throughout the space.
Attention to detail is evident in the store's features. The floor tiling takes cues from French castle pavements, while an Italian artisan crafted the iron clothing racks and staircase railings. Banana yellow curtains provide a contrasting accent to the otherwise neutral palette.
The boutique also showcases a curated selection of furniture and art. Pieces by renowned designers Frank Lloyd Wright, Jean Dunand, and Bertrand Lacroix are on display. The art collection includes works from Aristide Maillol, Joan Miró, Pierre Bonnard, Peter Schlesinger, and Wolfgang Tillmans.
"The New York Boutique" by Jacquemus is located at 143 Spring Street, New York 10012.
