A new snowboard and binding set bearing Lamborghini's name will hit the slopes this winter, developed with snowboard manufacturers CAPiTA and Union Binding Company. The Italian car maker showed off the equipment during its winter driving event in Yakeshi, Mongolia.
The CAPiTA Warpspeed board draws from Lamborghini's design language, incorporating pointed tips that mirror the angular shapes seen on the company's vehicles. CAPiTA builds each board at The Mothership, its factory in Austria that runs entirely on renewable energy. The board uses a carbon fiber construction to keep weight down while maintaining strength, and comes in three lengths: 154, 157, and 160 centimeters.
Union's contribution comes in the form of their Falcor bindings, modified with Forged Carbon highbacks - the vertical supports that riders lean against to control the board. This marks the first use of this material in snowboard bindings. The bindings come in two sizes to fit different boot sizes and are built to handle both prepared ski runs and off-piste terrain.
Only 200 sets will be made. Buyers can find dealers through CAPiTA's website.
The project extends Lamborghini's reach into winter sports equipment, adding to its existing lines of clothing and accessories. The company has not disclosed pricing for the sets.
