Tom Sachs and Nike are set to release the third iteration of their Mars Yard sneaker in September 2025, priced at $275. The announcement follows the renewal of their partnership in 2024, after Nike addressed reports regarding Sachs' workplace conduct.
The Mars Yard 3.0 maintains the signature aesthetic of previous models while introducing several technical updates. The shoe features a natural, sport red, maple, and sail colorway (SKU: DA6676-100), built on an open mesh polyester upper. Notable changes include a black TPU toecap and silkscreen-printed Swoosh logos, along with sail accents on the TPU heel clip and natural rubber outsole.
Structural modifications focus on functionality: the front pull tab extends to hold laces, and the eyestay overlay now consists of two separate pieces rather than a continuous band. The sole unit incorporates React foam cushioning and a carbon fiber plate, while the midsole displays a new textural pattern. Additional features include oversized eyelets, ribbed polyester laces, and a nylon heel pull strap for easier entry.
A wear test sample emerged in November 2024, offering an early glimpse of these updates. The official release is scheduled for September through Nike SNKRS and select retailers. Complete imagery and specific release details are pending.
