Stone Island, the "Material Research '984 – '024" exhibit, running from October 17 to 27, offers visitors a glimpse into the Italian brand's textile exploration over the past 40 years.
The display features 24 garments, ranging from early 1984 designs to pieces from the Fall 2024 collection. This selection aims to demonstrate how Stone Island's current offerings draw inspiration from its rich history of material experimentation.
Visitors can examine a variety of fabrics developed by Stone Island, including metallic, heat-sensitive, and reflective materials. These textiles showcase the brand's ongoing commitment to pushing the boundaries of fabric technology, a key factor in its popularity among menswear enthusiasts.
In addition to the clothing display, the exhibit includes a pop-up café where attendees can listen to music curated by La Rama Records. Local DJs will perform live sets on October 18, 19, 25, and 26, adding an auditory dimension to the visual experience.
The exhibition coincides with Stone Island's Fall/Winter 2024 campaign, which is visible on billboards and large window displays in the area. The campaign features a diverse group of well-known figures, including musician Liam Gallagher, actor Russell Tovey, and DJ Peggy Gou.
Holt Renfrew will also offer Stone Island's latest collection for purchase during the exhibition, allowing visitors to take home a piece of the brand's current designs.
This exhibit provides an opportunity for both long-time fans and newcomers to explore Stone Island's approach to clothing design and material innovation in a curated setting.
