At Milan Design Week, Stone Island has unveiled "Friendly Pressure: Studio One", an immersive audio experience that forms part of their ongoing musical project "Stone Island Sound" This first-of-its-kind initiative from the brand features a schedule of DJ sets, live music performances, and discussions about the project at Capsule Plaza in Spazio Maiocchi.
The immersive experience centers around a custom sound system created by Friendly Pressure, a London-based studio founded by Shivas Brown that specializes in crafting bespoke audio installations. However, the room itself plays an equally important role in the audio experience. The 50-square-meter space, inspired by designer Carlo Scarpa, has been specifically engineered to optimize sound dispersion. The room features soundproofing ceiling panels produced by Soundwave Jasmine and carpeting by CC-Tapis.
Friendly Pressure custom-built the high-fidelity audio system with a modular design. It includes a pair of speakers complemented by two unity horns (multi-input trumpets) and subwoofers designed by Bosco Taylor.
This project aligns with Stone Island's "LAB & LIFE" philosophy, which combines technical material research with community experiences. The packed program of events runs until Sunday, with daily sessions at 12 PM, 3 PM, and 5 PM. The series concludes with a session dedicated to ClubtoClub's music catalog.
