During Paris Fashion Week, Valentino unveiled its "Le Meta-Theatre des Intimites" collection, staged in a set designed to resemble a public bathroom. For the Fall/Winter 2025 season, creative director Alessandro Michele chose this unconventional setting to represent a space of comfort and tranquility where one can reveal their true self, exploring the complex relationship between self-definition and others.
The Roman designer drew inspiration from philosophers and artists including Romano Màdera, Michel Foucault, David Lynch, and Paul Valéry. Michele's runway looks illustrated how intimacy is not merely a refuge but rather a theater of existence.
However, what captured the most attention during the show was the unexpected collaboration between the luxury fashion house and Vans, resulting in a footwear collection that once again demonstrates Michele's talent for blending high and low fashion elements.
The connection between haute couture and streetwear strengthens with these nostalgic yet elevated interpretations of Vans' Authentic and Classic Slip-on models. From what was presented, both skateboarding silhouettes have been reimagined with new checkerboard patterns featuring Valentino's iconic "V" logo strategically placed throughout designs in white, red, pink, and black color schemes.
The release date for this collection has not yet been announced.
